Data Mafia

Comprised of 6 volumes, “Data Mafia” is a series of books made to emulate a “vibe” I got once but can’t tell when or like a dream I had but can’t remember. Made up of found images hijacked from the Web and through text as a potential implant, I am working on detangling the intimate relationship between the body and the screen in their capacity to sustain and share information. More database than narration, “Data Mafia” is an ever-growing collection of affects: part memory-bank, part hallucination and collection of 21st century artefacts, asking questions like How do we tell stories and What sto- ries do we tell ourselves? Based on the creation of textual-sex and the stockpiling of image banks, “Data Mafia” is the direct result of a 2-year bender on high-speed Internet connection.
