Data Destiny is a competitive board game of resource management (for ages 16+) that explores the consequences of personal digital storage consumption in everyday activities, drawing parallels between the intangibility of computers and human memory. As they create souvenirs and journey through life’s timeline, four players collect physical gigabytes representations, balancing available space and life points to achieve their birth destiny and win the game. Based on relatable real-life knowledges, the play experience highlights the ongoing compromises humans make to preserve their precious digital data. By demonstrating the significant impact of technology’s giant companies on individuals, Data Destiny aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the daily choices made to safeguard memories and personal identity.
